Threads of harmony: Celebrating India-Maldives Cultural Unity


A spectacular cultural event hosted by the Indian Cultural Centre under the High Commission of India in the Maldives. Organized in collaboration with Bidhabin Events, the evening was a vibrant tribute to the artistic and cultural connections between India and the Maldives, held as part of India Week in celebration of India’s 76th Republic Day.

Distinguished guests, including Hon’ble Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Abdulla Khaleel and former President of Maldives H.E. Mr. Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, graced the occasion, alongside diplomats, dignitaries, and members of both Indian and Maldivian communities. The Indian Cultural Centre, under the High Commission of India, hosted Threads of Harmony at Olympus, a vibrant celebration of the deep-rooted cultural ties between India and the Maldives. The event brought together artists, dignitaries, and cultural enthusiasts, highlighting the shared traditions that unite the two nations.



A Tribute to Cultural Exchange

The evening unfolded with a mesmerizing showcase of performances, celebrating the rich artistic heritage of both India and the Maldives. The ICCR-sponsored Kathak troupe, led by the exceptionally talented Ms. Paramita Maitra, captivated the audience with graceful semi-classical dance sequences.


Strengthening Cultural Relations Through Art. 

The grand finale was a breathtaking display of artistic synergy, blending Indian and Maldivian dance forms into a seamless fusion. This collaborative performance stood as a striking symbol of cultural harmony, showcasing the enduring artistic exchanges that have strengthened the bond between the two nations over time.
