"Through The Eyes of Van Gogh" International Art Competition and Exhibition opens to the public

“Through The Eyes of Van Gogh” International Art Competition and Exhibition is organized by MUSE in association with National Centre for the Arts. The exhibition was inaugurated by Minister Yumna Maumoon and opened for public viewing on June 1, 2022.  

The purpose of this competition and exhibition is so artists can showcase their work, style and skill through the lens of Vincent Van Gogh. This competition was carried out internationally with artists from more than 8 countries participating and reaching a total of 300 submissions of artworks. From the 300, 80 works for selected to be exhibited at the National Art Gallery.

The competition also awarded the best ten pieces in addition to the top three.

The top three award winners are:

1)      Ali Azim, for his piece “Starry Night”

2)      Mariyam Yumnu Ahmed-Khalid, for her piece “Mobula Birostris”

3)      Zoya Umar, for her piece “Sinamale’ Bridge Starry Night”

This exhibition will take place at the National Art Gallery from 1st to 5th June 2022 from 10am to 6pm and 8pm to 10pm.

Due to popular demand, the exhibition has been extended to the 11th of June.
